Hiya,

It’s only me again! I thought I’d better keep you all updated. I wish I could report great advances towards starting building…. However, as the title suggests, nothing is ever straightforward!

I’ll break my blog up into reports about myself, vehicles, housing and land progress. Hopefully it will be easy to read, and it will be definitely easier for me to gather my thoughts!

Me…… I’m well, eating fine, haven’t struggled to find veggie food, having said that, I cook for myself a lot. I can get a veggie meal at the Raddison Hotel, but it’s pricy, so that’s a treat. Caught the sun a little today, but haven’t burnt. Got my first hair cut here……. Bit of a skin head, but it’s ok. Remembering to take my malaria tablets daily. Drinking plenty of water. So all in all a clean bill of health.

Vehicles were I thought sorted to some degree in regards to registering them, tax and insurance etc. However, the clearing agent hadn’t paid a bill so I had to fly around this afternoon unexpectedly to get it paid…. Lost another day there! The land rovers paperwork seems to be ok so far….. Don’t want to tempt fate though!!! On the mechanical side of things, Polkas windscreen got broken in transit from the UK….. I’ll try to source a replacement but I don’t hold up much hope! I want to get her battery box secured so I’ll have to take a trip to the welders when she’s insured. Other than that she’s in A1 condition and is currently stored in a friends compound. The Land Rover is playing up…… I’ve been repairing all his seats….. Getting hold of simple stuff like nuts and bolts (which are missing) is time consuming. Had to completely remake the back seats as they had been virtually smashed to pieces! Nearly there with that though… Just waiting on some bolts in the morning. Clutch is still playing up, but that I’ll have to put up with until the replacement parts come out with Nigel. The starter motor has now decided to give up the ghost too! However, I’m hoping its loose terminals on the motor, which I’ll attempt in the morning. Getting him back up to scratch is going to take a few weeks, but I’m confident I’ll get there now.

Housing……. I’ve looked at several houses now, and to be honest, they are all out of my budget really, however, I need to get it sorted so I’ll have to economise else where! Hoping to have a meeting with the one I’ve decided to go with soon to iron out a few details and get a look at the tenancy agreement. Keep you posted on that one.

Progress on land……. None……. However, the ball is in our court as we need to get a lot of paperwork prepared to make proper proposals to various ministers within government. It’s not really my field of expertise however I’ll do my best until Nigel gets here.

That’s about all folks!

Please pray for land, funds to pay my rent, and the end of the Ebola outbreak. In no particular order!!!

God bless.
Ian
