Polka

Hiya I thought I’d better up date my blog…… Polka has led us a bit of a dance. The mechanics have given here a thorough going over…..
So, new batteries, a new oil filter in place of the leaky one, and a new starter were all required. A few other little minor things too, but overall she’s in very good condition. Phew, I haven’t brought a lemon!

However, the path is rarely straight. On removing the old starter motor, they found the “ring gear” to have several teeth missing and really badly worn. That’s a gearbox removal to replace it….. Not a small job. It also leads to other issues…… Will the clutch be ok? If it’s worn, it’s pointless re installing it for it to wear out in the next 6 months… But that adds another £600 to an already expensive garage bill. I pray that it’s not too worn, but I will know Monday. Whatever the case, she’ll be shipshape and Bristol fashion by Monday evening.

The next step is to get her to Tilbury ready for shipping in December. I have to do it soon as the insurance which came with her runs out shortly. Maybe some secure parking near the shippers. I’ll have to get on the net and investigate.

Not much more going on to be honest. Busy preparing to go, but can’t do much till nearer the time. I’ll carry on working, and try earn Adrian and myself some money before Christmas. That’s all for now. Blog again soon!
