Long time no blog!

Hi, I know it’s been a while since I last blogged, so I’m going to split the blog into topics again. I have been busy, doing lots, so lots to tell you all about.

The most important and really great news is that we have negotiated on some land. 20 acres near Waterloo in a place called Newton. It’s ideal for our purposes. We have agreed a price and we are now in process of raising the funds required. It’s a lot of land, so a lot of money is needed…… Whilst I don’t like to use my blog to encourage giving, if whoever reads my blogs could take the message back to your circles of influence….. We could really do with donations! We are instructing lawyers and surveyors, so this is happening! I would estimate the plot of land is probably big enough to build 1/5 to 1/4 of our target of 1000 homes. Along with small businesses, and various social buildings. So it’s a big leap forward and a really exciting time.
We need prayers for the transaction to go as smoothly as possible, as its a very complex task to achieve. There are so many parties involved and we all need to be going in the right direction! I’m sure God will guide us through the process.
Setting up here has been a far more costly than anyone could have predicted. I’ve been trying to be wise with the funds I have, but there are some things that just have to be paid for. Essentially we are setting up a new house and office from scratch, a new building business also from scratch (trust me, I know how expensive that is!). Whilst we are doing this, we have two errant vehicles costing us a fortune. (More on that in another blog!) All the while we have been exploring every possibility we can for land, and that adds up too……. Little “handshakes” here and there, trips up to Waterloo and Tombo and such. Due to vehicles I’m constantly on the back of a motorbike, or in a taxi, or a puda puda (mini bus).
Anyway, I’m not moaning, it’s just how it is. We have land, we need funds, it’s costing a small fortune to get established! More on the next blog
God bless.
Ian
