Arrived in Cambodia

28th January 2015 | Posted in Nigel's Blog

Off to Cambodia and arrived after a 16 hour trip and missed a night with the 7 hour time difference.  Didn’t start well as I mistakenly took 46kg to check in at Thai airways, only to find their allowance was 30kg.  One bag was entirely full of football kit, donated by Kitaid which I was taking to provide a team kit for some groups who live in Cambodia’s dreadful slums through Home Leone.  Thai air were no helpful, but after Heathrow intervened they kindly let me bring it all.  You would think I would learn to look at the baggage and not think 30K was my seat.

Met by Dan with his Tuk Tuk and great to see some friends whilst setting up a number of the things for when the team arrive.  Then on to the village and meet the team.  the builders had started at 7am and finished pouring footings at 8.30pm – what tremendous work.  Interesting seeing live chickens hanging on the back of a transit van and again remember how few old people one sees on the streets of the capital.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAinded
