Hello all,
I’ve been a busy busy bee! All sorts done, with varying success. But I feel I’m making headway.
I have seen our supposedly “running” Land Rover….. pha!!!! It hasn’t run in 9 months. Anyway, I’m on it…. got it a new battery, so at least I can try turning it over now. So I will revisit him Friday…….. I haven’t thought of a name for him yet, so suggestions are welcome! Definitely a fella this one, a bit rough around the edges, a tad ugly and wont work!!! Maybe “Rab”?
The Land is our predominant issue……. we have seen several sites which are suitable, but getting the land ministry to sign them off is more complex than it should be! Prayers please!
Housing for myself and future office….. I took a look at the one we found prior to my departure. And to be honest you need to be a mountain goat to get to it! Probably suitable for two people to use as a bedsit, but not a real solution to our needs. However, we seem to have found another property which is much more suitable for our needs. However, I’m still negotiating the rent so I’ll say no more!
Polka Lands tomorrow, But she won’t clear customs for another week or so. hoping there are no issues with that.
I’m seeing various ministers and people of note in an effort to get us recognized as an import duty free NGO. Again Prayers on that one please.
I’m well and thriving….. however I was nearly cut down in my prime today when I was run over by a 4×4!!! Luckily for me, i was thrown into some poor lady and we both ended up into the gutter in the street! No damage to bodies though, so could have been worse! Poor lady went in properly tho, she was carrying a basket full of bread and everything went for a Burton!! the gutter was full (The gutters here are a 18″x18″ open sewer) so you can imagine what sort of detritus! The reckless driver did stop, and seemed totally oblivious to the fact there was a lady half drowning in the gutter! I think he was terrified that I was going to call the police. I asked him to compensate the lady for her good and clothes…. stayed while the surrounding people made sure she was uninjured, then left after he gave the lady some money……. its all drama!!!
I have some lovely pictures of the naming service I attended for the baby Issac, hopefully soon I’ll be able to get the uploaded so you can see them.
I’m going to try get to a hotel tomorrow night to hijack there internet connection so I can attend Open Book virtually. I’m hoping that works out as I enjoy our meetings.
Right, enough for now. Write again soon.
God Bless
Ian
Lovely to hear from you and glad you are looking after yourself. We think about you and what you are up to every day (our prayers are with you and all you are trying to help). Good luck with the Land – if anyone can do it – you can!!
Hi Ian, Good to hear that you are well and gradually changing the world bit by bit. You’ve not been there two minutes and already have gone from the ground (no pun intended) up to government ministers. Don’t stop there, straight up to the President!
Seriously, glad to hear that things are gradually going your way, you deserve them to. I’m sure things will feel better when you get a place to call home. You’ve certainly filled the last 10 days with excitement, I kind of envy you.
We’ve had a bit more snow here but it’s on its way out now. John and I have talked quite a bit about you since you went and hope and pray that things will work out as God intended when he sent you out there.
Take care and God bless!
