We have just received funding from the Prince of Wales’s Princes Foundation to bring a new eco-friendly technology to Sierra Leone. A group in Kenya have pioneered a community cooker which takes waste and burns at a very high temperature providing heat which was fed to a cooker.
We are going to take the technology and turn the heat in to a timber seasoning plant (In Sierra Leone, all seasoned timber is imported and local timber painted with oil/carbolian). As part of the “plant” we need a 40ft container. We are planning to send one from near Luton on 18 November. This will cost £1400 to buy which we need a few people to sponsor.
We are deeply grateful to the Princes Trust for this big step forward.
