Last weekend I had the honour to visit Martha’s Vineyard, at a weekend celebrating US Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Barbara is one of the most senior people in the USA national congress and chairs some key committees, including that of overseas policy. Learning of her work to oppose injustice and fight for the disenfranchised, spurs me on in my goal to enable the poorest in Sierra Leone to have a new opportunity and some fresh thinking. She also has some Sierra Leonean heritage
It was also wonderful to meet some inspiring people from the Congress, business people and long standing friends of Barbara. Also grateful to Father Chip at the local Anglican church who kindly hosted me. I had the opportunity to share the work of Home Leone on an informal basis and will see what comes of it!
We are now looking to find funding in the USA as we have a registered charity (501c3) there many want to help the worlds poorest in many ways.
