Heading to Sierra Leone

So, exciting times as we head back to Sierra Leone.  My daughter Natasha, Joe and Sarah headed off to join Rachel, Moses and the team.  Getting ready had its challenges with the SL High Commission losing some passports and still one is lost as we get on the plane.

Air Maroc – plane is late leaving as they say there is trouble in Casablanca.  The pilots went on strike last year because they didn’t want to eat the food served to the customers – I can relate to that!  I picked up a bottle of water left by the flight attendant, took a swig and it was full of gin and tonic!  Interesting stewarding service.

At Casablanca and plane delayed, then cancelled – its 2.30am and no info. Turns out another strike – this time about employing cheaper pilots!  Then 150 head for the exit – like a stampede.  Somehow we got to the front and then one man sat booking each person a hotel individually, taking about 5 mins per person – as we left the queue was getting restless.  We still don’t know if plane will leave and we can get on with the Sierra Leone agenda.  We laugh, work here and wait!

Rachel has sorted our house, including painting my room which was black with mould from the rainy season!  Excited that a team will come on Saturday and step by step people are getting interested.  Thankful that Rachel can get the program fully set.

When I started, God showed me a picture of the Israelite’s going through the desert to the promised land. He provided enough manna (food) for today but if we stored it up then it went mouldy.  God keeps providing just enough for today and the day is coming when we can build out the village.  At present we work on the foundations which continue to become rock-like.

Last week met with Bob and Mark , our planner and architect and went through village drainage and next steps – Thanks for your encouragement and prayers.
