Our search for Land has brought us to an exciting and pivotal point. Life in A New Dimension (Land) is on its way for many hundreds of people.
We’ve found the ideal location and land in a place called Newton (named after the man who wrote Amazing Grace). It is a wonderful place to start and so we’ve been walking down the route to purchase it. We hope to buy 20 acres which is enough for 300 homes and a full set of businesses and community projects. After negotiating the price, you have to add £14,000 for the land survey (including Land registry fees!), 10% tax and 8% lawyers’ fees so the add-ons reach nearly 50%. But the key is we must have bona fide title and all the due diligence is essential.
The owner has allowed us to pay a part of the total cost of £117,000 in 3 years time, which is most helpful. We therefore need to find £80,000 pretty much straight away to proceed. We have been given £2,000 towards this which I take as an invitation to proceed. (Thank you to the anonymous donor who made some of this possible). I believe before God that this is the key next step in fulfilling this plan to provide new community opportunities for literally some of the worlds poorest slum dwellers.
We are therefore seeking £78,000, or $116,000 to proceed to the next step.
