Hiya
Most of you who have followed the blog for a while will know that I’ve had a real challenge getting Frank up to speed. Any speed in fact as he wouldn’t start for ages! Once I got him going it was soon apparent that there were far more issues than we could have ever accounted for. On this journey to get him running I’ve encountered lots of so called mechanics, and none of them have been very good. In fact, most have been worse than bad. Although, I have now found the needle in the haystack and have a decent mechanic who is reasonably priced too! So he is the real silver lining to this story. He’s an army mechanic, so I had to clear it with his seniors, which didn’t cost too much! He is also taking a look at Polkas intermittent EDC light fault too.
Frank is now roadworthy after many hour labour with him, he has had an new fuel pump, all new clutch hydraulics, Front and back axles completely overhauled as they had just been abused and ruined by previous “Mechanics”, full service (it must have been its first!), Replacement bearings in the prop shafts, and 90% of the suspension bushes and rubbers changed, brakes, filters, fuel lines, lights replaced, seats fixed, seat belts replaced (Who removes seat belts?), the jack and wheel brace was also missing along with the battery…… the list is exhausting just writing it! I’m sure there is other stuff too, but its been such a long journey I’ve began too loose track!
However, The good news is that I can draw a line under this chapter, he is finally done. Not perfect, but fit for purpose and ready to work for us.
God bless
Ian
