This weekend noted a landmark in Sierra Leones history. On the one hand to celebrate the hoped end of the Ebola virus gripping a nation, yet somehow tempered by the remembrance of many who died, some giving their lives that others might live.
There is much talk of post- ebola reconstruction. In truth there were many challenges facing the nation before the virus struck but the economic downturn and fear that took so many residents out of the country now has a chance to reverse.
Home Leone offers one strand of a key step forward for Sierra Leone. By offering a low cost housing solution, we join with the people and call out for investment in this nation. Just think, if average wages rose to just $10 per day, that would be a nearly 10 fold increase in living standards, yet for many of us in the west its a couple of cups of coffee.
Let us be thankful the epidemic is past and work to enable Sierra Leonean’s create a better future. Thank you for your support and standing with us in this urgent and vital cause.
