A remarkable thing happened today, a new school opened in Sierra Leone. We have worked towards this day for 5 years as the school was opened by the acting British High Commissioner and the High Commissioner-designate. We welcomed a range of dignitaries from parents, Government, business, Freetown City Council, friends and more.
Ole and Ingfred from Norway joined the celebrations, representing BuildAid, they had funded 4 classrooms and an administration block. We are also grateful to Care and Relief for the Young and Make a Difference who also funded classrooms. We think of equipment shipped from Stopsley High School in Luton and Silsoe Primary school together with Southampton Solent University. Thank you too for the teachers leaders and trainers as we pass the baton to the educationalists to speak into the lives of these young people.
Many of these children may not have attended school had they not moved. These doors open the way to generations of learning
Thank you
